Janie Galloway Speaker

Janie Galloway has a passion for Bible Study.  She loves digging into the Word to find the treasures God has waiting to be discovered.  She loves sharing these discoveries with the people around her.

She first felt God calling her to minister to the homeless almost 35 years ago.  That led her to a Christian family shelter for the homeless that provided care to 100 to 150 people a day.  There she discovered some wonderful and inspirational people who were working hard to overcome some almost seemingly impossible circumstances.  She saw the ‘joy of the Lord’ lived out by those who discovered Christ as they were learning and doing the work of ‘living by faith.’  They exemplified Philippians 4:13 of being able to ‘do all things’ with the help of Christ.

She later was co-founder and director of Jireh Ministries and Jireh Outreach for 7 years.  This organization was a ‘for-free’ clothing closet staffed by teen volunteer gang members and their mothers.  They soon discovered many of their ‘customers’ came back just for prayer.  The Outreach programs included a Bi-lingual Bible Study that eventually evolved into a Spanish speaking Church plant.

After moving to Flagstaff, she got involved with the Jail Ministry and served on the Board for 3 years and taught Women’s Bible Studies to women inmates.  She is also certified with Prison Fellowship Ministries.

She began volunteering for the Salvation Army, in a part-time position, serving as Community Outreach Director, Project Manager, Case Worker, and leader of Bible Studies for the Staff and a group of wonderful and colorful women.

While volunteering, she served on the Salvation Army Advisory Board for 8 years.

For the last 12 years, she has been involved in Women’s Ministry and in teaching Women’s Bible Studies.

Janie has been married to Tim for 46 years and together they have a son, Lance and a daughter, Nikki.  They also have 2 absolutely incredible grandchildren, Devyn and Makena.  Family is one of the most valuable gifts with which God has blessed them.
